Carlee’s Disney World Adventure
Six-year-old Carlee is a sweet little girl who loves Cinderella and has an avid imagination. Not too long ago, Carlee was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a form of cancer. When she is not receiving treatments in the hospital or going to doctors’ appointments, Carlee likes to go for rides in the car with her daddy, watch the Drake & Josh show, and cheer on her older brother as he plays sports. When a team of Make-A-Wish volunteers visited Carlee, she thought for a serious moment about her wish. She then pronounced, “I want to go to Disney for my sixth birthday to see Cinderella!”
Soon after, Carlee’s wish came true as a stylish limousine pulled up in front of her house to whisk her and her family off to the airport.
Carlee and her family stayed at Give Kids the World Village, a non-profit resort for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Carlee marveled at the fantasy-like quality of the entire resort- from the Gingerbread House Restaurant to the Castle of Miracles, it was truly a place for her imagination to soar! In addition, Carlee and her family experienced the fun of Disney World, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Sea World!
The most memorable moment of Carlee’s wish trip was when she had her sixth birthday dinner at Cinderella’s Castle! Carlee and her family made their way to the Magic Kingdom to attend a magical banquet at Cinderella’s Royal Table and received a grand welcome. After an exquisite meal, a wonderful birthday dessert, and a visit from Cinderella herself, Carlee couldn’t stop smiling! It was no doubt an unforgettable birthday and was truly a wish experience that Carlee and her family will cherish for years to come.
